When Samantha said she was blessed to have Naga Chaitanya

Samantha Ruth Prabhu’s divorce from Naga Chaitanya grabbed eyeballs in 2021. Fans of the duo were seen clashing on social media, taking sides and speculating about the reasons behind their separation. Samantha had once spoken warmly of Chaitanya, referring to him as a “blessing” who entered her life at a crucial time. The Kushi actress had also spoken about her rumoured relationship with actor Siddharth.
Samantha was reportedly involved with Siddharth, her co-star from Jabardasth, prior to her romance with her Ye Maaya Chesave co-star, Naga Chaitanya. Although the two were frequently spotted together, their romance didn’t stand the test of time, and they were said to have parted ways in 2015. The reason for their split was never officially revealed, though speculation pointed to differences in commitment levels.

Soon after her breakup, Samantha found solace in Naga Chaitanya. In an old conversation with MensXP, the Citadel: Honey Bunny star reflected on her emotional state during that phase and how Chaitanya’s presence brought her stability.

“I would have fallen into such a crisis in my personal life, just like actress Savithri. But thankfully, very soon, I realised it in the beginning and walked out of the relationship. This was when I sensed that it could end badly. And then I was blessed to have a person like Naga Chaitanya in my life. He’s a gem,” Samantha shared.

During that period, reports claimed that Siddharth wasn’t ready for marriage. Some even alleged that he grew close to another female colleague, reportedly helping her land a role in a project. There were also murmurs about his discomfort with Samantha’s friendships with her male co-stars.
Amid all the rumours, Samantha once took a stand in support of Siddharth. Dismissing any accusations of betrayal, she publicly clarified that the end of their relationship wasn’t one-sided. She described Siddharth as “a great guy” and made it clear that their breakup did not cast her as a victim.
Siddharth married Aditi Rao Hydari in 2024, following the end of his marriage to Meghna Narayan in 2007.
Naga Chaitanya married actress Sobhita Dhulipala in December last year.
