Bangladesh, led by Shakib Al Hasan, come into this match with a whole host of problems to deal with. Tamim Iqbal was ruled out of the World Cup due to a back injury, whereas Shakib also suffered a minor injury while playing football, and did not bat or bowl during the team’s warm-up games against Sri Lanka and England.

Afghanistan, captained by Hasmatullah Shahidi, are coming fresh off a victory in their solitary warm-up game after the first match was cancelled.

In their practice match, Bangladesh beat Sri Lanka by chasing down a target of 263 with seven wickets in hand and eight overs to spare. However, they then went down to England by five wickets while defending a total of 196 in 36 overs. Both of these matches took place in Guwahati.

On the other hand, Afghanistan’s first warm-up match against South Africa was abandoned due to persistent rain in Thiruvananthapuram. However, they bounced back as they beat Sri Lanka by six wickets.

Both teams have encountered rain interruptions during their warm-up matches. Hence, there will be a lot of focus on the weather at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association (HPCA) Stadium in Dharamshala. Will there be rain on offer and how will the pitch react to two spin-heavy attacks?

We take a closer look at the weather forecast and pitch report for the 3rd ICC World Cup 2023 match between BAN and AFG.

BAN vs AFG weather report today and pitch report of Hyderabad stadium

There is no chance of rain for this match as Dharamshala will have a sunny, bright day with a maximum temperature of 30°C during the day, gradually dropping to 22°C in the evening.

Since this is a day match, neither of these sides need to be too worried about the dew factor. For the World Cup matches at the HPCA Stadium, it is likely that black soil pitches will be employed. These black soil wickets will offer pace and bounce to the bowlers and will give plenty of assistance to the pacers early in the innings.
