share in the film. Friendship has usually been at the center of many films backed by

Farhan Akhtar

,

Zoya

Akhtar, Reema Kagti and Ritesh Sidhwani.

EXCLUSIVE: Shah Rukh Khan's EPIC invite to Siddhant Chaturvedi & friends at Mannat | Ananya Panday

When asked in an exclusive interview with ETimes how much he was inspired by films like

Dil Chahta Hai

and Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, director

Arjun Varain Singh

said , “ First of all, I wouldn't put our film in that category. Of course, those are masterful movies. We're a product of everything that we see and we absorb. We're like sponges, especially as artists. I think we try to be sponges to a lot of things. I was obviously very young when Dil Chahta Hai came out. But I still remember seeing it and just being like, this just feels real. This just feels authentic. And then, of course, Zindagi came out. And I wish I could be one of those guys.”

“ For Kho Gaye, for what it was supposed to be, this was me and my friends. This was my world when I was 25. I wrote the film when I was 27, 28. So, on some level, I want this film to be a little time capsule of what life was like for us. So that future generations, hopefully, will look back at this film and be like, that's their world” he added.
