Face the realities
For centuries now, people have thought and believed that ancient philosophies were all about rituals, myths, chants, and the like. For many, texts and divine words were just outdated ideas that the current generation did not have to abide by. But as time changes, people are slowly realising all over again that ancient Hindu texts gave a lifetime of relevant and timeless wisdom. Be it the understanding of consciousness, of time, or of purpose, there is something to learn from it all.
And here we mention 6 important lessons and secrets from ancient texts that challenge and change people’s perception of real time and life events.

Your soul does not just belong to you
We often think that our soul belongs to us, almost as if it is our slave working with our thoughts. We think of it as ‘oh, it is my soul’ or ‘Oh, my soul would not agree or accept that’. But ancient texts do not conform to this idea, and they say that the soul is not a personal belonging. Instead, it is fleeting, going from one vessel, which is the body, to the other vessel, not staying attached to one particular person.
And so it is important to remember that your soul isn't yours to claim, but just a part of something infinite.

Time repeats itself and is cyclical
Time, or Kaal, in Hindi, is not linear. While most people think that time comes and goes, and that it never comes back to the same person, the scriptures say that time is cyclic.
According to the whole concept of Yugas that come, go, and then come again, the universe goes through repeating cycles, and each of these cycles spans thousands of years, and witnesses the rise and fall of humans, their nature, their successes and failures, and much more.
And so time and history do not just move forward, they come around as a loop.

The concept of ‘Aham Brahmasmi’
Another timeless teaching we get from the ancient and divine texts is the concept of ‘Aham Brahmasmi’ or ‘I am the Brahman’.
When a human believes in being the Brahman, the highest form and self of themselves, they live life with a new, and fresher energy. And if you are someone who grew up thinking that God was a supreme entity who lived far away and could only be reached with extreme penance, devotion, and the likes, the concept of Aham Brahmasmi tells them that there is a source of God in them as well, and they do not need to look for it, but rather just find it within.

The start came with OM
One of the most sacred sounds for Hindus over the world, the one that started the creation of all the Universe, is OM. OM is said to be sound that came from the Universe, a vibration that set things in motion, and a sound that gave birth to life forms. And so, OM is the seed that began all forms of creation.
And for many people across the world, chanting OM is not just a ritual, it is a way to align themselves with the energies inside them and the energies around them, in the universe.

The Chakras in the body
The human body has seven main chakras and these are the energy centers of our body. The Chakras start from the base of our spine and go upwards to our head, and each of these Chakras are responsible for a part of our personality. One for our confidence, another for our communication, another one for our intuition, and the like.
And the spiritual and ancient texts say that these Chakras are no less than energy channels flowing throughout out body.
The Muladhara connects people to the ground, and helps them stay positive and remove ego from life, and then the Sahasrara connects them to the divine, and helps improve willpower, intuition, reasoning, and more.

Live with Dharma
Dharma, or righteousness, is one of the most important characteristics to live your life with. Being in sync with your duties, your rightful behaviour, or the Dharma, is not just about morality or duty, but should be seen as a true path of living.
Living with Dharma doesn’t always mean doing what’s easy or socially rewarding, but choosing to do what is right for yourself, while being right to the soul and society too. And like Shri Krishna tells Arjun during the Kurukshetra war, living a life in adherence to Dharma leads to a meaningful time on Earth.
