Salman Khan, known for his candid remarks, had earlier downplayed the significance of the 100 crore club and suggested it was no longer a major milestone in Bollywood.
In response, Akshay Kumar advocated for a more balanced perspective on film success.
In a conversation with India Today, Akshay Kumar asserted that anyone should not pressure films to do well at the box office. He emphasized that some stories transcend monetary considerations and deserve to be told for their intrinsic value.
The Khiladi actor also expressed his delight at the commercial success of Shah Rukh Khan's film "Jawan" and acknowledged the positive impact of hits like "Gadar 2" and "OMG 2" on the industry. He noted that the Bollywood industry had faced challenges during the COVID-19 pandemic but was now making a strong comeback.
In an aspirational statement, Akshay Kumar expressed his hope for Bollywood to produce 2000-3000 crore films, akin to Hollywood blockbusters, citing the need for superior storytelling, screenplay, and scripts. He emphasized that Bollywood could learn from Hollywood's approach to filmmaking.

," a biographical survival thriller film based on the 1989 Raniganj coalfields disaster. In the film, he portrayed the role of Engineer Jaswant Singh Gill, who heroically rescued 65 trapped miners.
