Akshay Kumar’s banner, Cape of Good Films, has reportedly taken legal action against veteran actor Paresh Rawal following his unexpected departure from the much-anticipated Hera Pheri 3. The production house issued a legal notice, seeking Rs 25 crore in damages for losses incurred due to his exit, including costs related to cast, crew, logistics, and shooting. Hera Pheri franchise suffers setback amid ongoing shootAccording to Pooja Tidke, Joint Managing Partner at Parinam Law Associates, Rawal has yet to respond to the legal notice. “I think there will be severe legal consequences. It’s of course hurt the franchise,” she told PTI, adding that the actor was given a week to respond and compensate the producers. Tidke explained that the team had already started filming, including a three-and-a-half-minute portion of the movie and the official trailer, when Rawal abruptly sent a notice stating he no longer wanted to be associated with the film.

“It’s taken everybody by shock and surprise,” she noted. Hope for resolution despite legal tensionThe legal notice emphasizes the financial and reputational setbacks caused by the actor’s decision. “There’s reputational damage involved for the actors that are committed to the film, the franchise as a whole, and of course, there’s a great deal of disappointment among the audience,” Tidke said. Despite the legal tensions, she expressed hope that the issue might still be resolved amicably.
