Kesari Chapter 2: A Tale Rooted in History
The actors were reportedly en route to Amritsar to promote Kesari Chapter 2, which releases in theatres on April 18. Directed by Karan Singh Tyagi, the film is a spiritual sequel to the 2019 blockbuster Kesari. While the first film portrayed the valiant Battle of Saragarhi, this chapter shifts focus to the Jallianwala Bagh massacre—one of the darkest chapters in India’s colonial past. The narrative draws from the book The Case That Shook The Empire by Raghu Palat and Pushpa Palat, and centers around C. Sankaran Nair’s legal battle against the British Empire. Alongside Akshay and Madhavan, the film also stars Ananya Panday in a crucial role.
With a powerful subject, a talented cast, and Akshay Kumar's Kesari Chapter 2 is expected to be a much-anticipated release.
