The romantic comedy-drama, directed by Karan Sharma, opened to a decent Rs 7 crore on its first Friday. Positive word-of-mouth and favorable reviews helped the film gain momentum over the weekend, with collections rising to Rs 9.5 crore on Saturday and peaking at Rs 11.5 crore on Sunday. While the usual weekday drop followed, Bhool Chuk Maaf managed to hold steady with Rs 4.5 crore on Monday and Rs 4.79 crore on Tuesday, taking its five day India net total to Rs 37.29 crore. In doing so, the film has overtaken the lifetime collection of Mr. & Mrs. Mahi, which earned Rs 36.34 crore. The cricket-based romantic drama, released last year, marked Rajkummar’s second collaboration with Janhvi Kapoor. Though it opened to fair numbers, it couldn’t maintain a strong hold at the box office. Bhool Chuk Maaf, however, has managed to sustain better, buoyed by its lighthearted narrative, relatable humor, and the fresh pairing of Rajkummar Rao and Wamiqa Gabbi.

With this, Bhool Chuk Maaf now stands as the fifth highest-grossing film of Rajkummar’s career. Topping his box office chart remains Stree 2, which shattered records earlier this year by collecting a staggering Rs 597.99 crore. Its predecessor, Stree (Rs 129.83 crore), holds second place, followed by Srikanth (Rs 48.07 crore) and Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video (Rs 42.09 crore). The film’s success reinforces Rajkummar Rao’s consistent ability to draw audiences, especially when paired with strong content. It’s also a significant milestone for Wamiqa Gabbi, who has been making steady inroads into mainstream Bollywood after impressing audiences with her OTT performances. As Bhool Chuk Maaf inches closer to the Rs 40 crore mark, it will be interesting to see how it fares in its second week which sees the release of Jackie Chan’s Karata Kid. The Hindi version of the film has been dubbed by Ajay Devgn and his son Yug Devgn.
