Released on Sunday to cash in on the festival on Pongal, the film survived mixed to negative reviews to set the cash registers ringing. The film opened to Rs 25.35 crore which was a Sunday, and stayed steady till the festival of Pongal which was on Tuesday, minting Rs 12.8 on Monday and Rs 12.25 on Tuesday. Since then, the film’s collection has been declining, as it earned Rs 9.75 on Wednesday and Rs 6.25 on Thursday. On Friday, the film collected Rs 4.2 crore and as per early estimates by Sacnilk, it earned Rs 4 crore on Saturday, thereby taking the 7 day collection of the film to Rs 74.60 crore.The film has been pegged at the budget of Rs 100 crore, and going by the trends, it might just fall short of it by the time it ends its box office run. But the makers might be able to turn a profit but selling non-theatrical rights like satellite and digital.
