Deepika Padukone, who recently embraced motherhood with the arrival of her daughter Dua, returned to Instagram with a soul-stirring video that left fans emotional and inspired. In a reflective moment captured while getting her hair styled, the
Pathaan
actress opened up about the age-old question she’s often asked: Mumbai or Bengaluru?
From childhood memories to career milestones
The video, posted on Wednesday evening, sees Deepika thoughtfully comparing her two beloved cities. When asked if she misses Corner House — the iconic Bengaluru dessert parlour — she smiles, “I do miss it, but I’m actually in a way glad there isn’t one in Mumbai because that would require a different level of willpower.”
The question soon shifted to the crux: “Bombay or Bengaluru?” Deepika responded with heartfelt honesty, “Whenever I come back to Bangalore, it feels like home… because this is where I’ve lived a large part of my life. This is where I’ve grown up — my friends, my school, my college — all of those formative years and experiences have been here.”
Between roots and reinvention
She continued with equal love for the city of dreams, “Bombay again, because professionally, that’s where my life began and that’s where home is now. The energy in Mumbai is very, very different. It’s very difficult to choose one over the other. But I feel like both cities have really influenced my 39 years.”
The reel was laced with a beautiful montage of unseen childhood photos, clips from her school and college days in Bengaluru, and throwbacks from her early modelling days in Mumbai.
Captioning the video, Deepika wrote, “A question I get asked ever so often…Bengaluru or Mumbai?”
On the work front, Deepika was last seen as the fierce DCP Shakti Shetty in
Singham Again
. Though she hasn’t officially announced her next film post-motherhood, buzz suggests that the Kalki 2 team is eager to bring her back for the sequel.
