along with actor Sanjay Dutt have found themselves into a controversy. A report suggests that an
FIR
against Dutt, Badshah and 40 others has been filed in an alleged piracy case.
As per a report by India Today, Viacom 19 Network has filed this FIR against Sanjay, Badshah and 40 other people for promoting the viewing of IPL (Indian Premiere League) matches on an online betting app called Fairplay.
The media company has claimed that they have the Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) to stream the matches. However, these matches were streamed on the betting app illegally and many celebs promoted the tournament on this app. Hence a case of digital piracy has been filed any many actors are likely to be summoned in this case.
Meanwhile, several big Bollywood names have also come under limelight in a money laundering case which is being investigated by ED (Enforcement Directorate). Celebs like Ranbir Kapoor, Huma Qureshi, Kapil Sharma, Shraddha Kapoor among others were likely to be summoned. Though, just a few hours later, the reports cleared Ranbir Kapoor's name from these allegations.
The same media company had published a report which stated that as per digital evidence of the ED, Rs 112 crore was funded through hawala channels to an event management firm. Ranbir's name was cleared from these allegations saying that he was not being summoned as an accused. But, to understand the betting business transactions. "His questioning is important to know his knowledge about the money sources he received," stated the report.
