Known for his intense, brooding characters and gripping performances, Jaideep Ahlawat is all set to surprise audiences in a new avatar with his upcoming film Jewel Thief. This time, it isn’t just his acting prowess that’s grabbing attention — it’s his unexpected dance moves. In a recent conversation with ETimes, Jaideep opened up about how he approached a dance sequence in the film and left everyone pleasantly stunned.

“People are surprised to see it because no one had seen it before, but my dancing was always around,” he shared with a smile. However, despite his enthusiasm, Jaideep revealed that he had barely a day to rehearse for the sequence. That didn’t stop him from giving it his all. “I made my choreographer, Praveen, dance. For me, dance is also like a script. If there are ten words in the script, you should know which one comes next. It’s about mental memory — if the flow is good, you can manage till the end. The moment you start wondering what comes next, it won’t happen.”
Jaideep’s method was simple but effective. He admits to making Praveen repeat the steps so often that by the end of the session, the exhaustion was visible. “It was visible on his face that, ‘Sir, you’ll also do it or should I keep doing it alone?’” he laughed.
While the sequence he performed was brief, it was enough to spark curiosity. “If I had to do the entire song, I’d have to prepare properly,” he said, acknowledging the need for more time and practice for a full-fledged routine. What thrilled Jaideep most, though, was the audience’s reaction. “People were surprised, asking where it came from. It was inside me — just in a separate pocket. That pocket hadn’t opened till now.
