Kim Kardashian gets justice on the Paris robbery case

Following a week-long trial case, Kim Kardashian gets justice and eight of the ten robbers, who held her at gunpoint and stole millions of dollars worth of jewellery in Paris in 2016, were found guilty by the court.

As the French media likes to call them, the Grandpa Robbers were held accountable for the crime, where one of the gang members was fully acquitted on charges of planning and carrying out the armed robbery during Paris Fashion Week, while others were charged for assisting in conspiracy and possession of weapons, according to NBC.

The robbers are declared guilty...but won't get arrested

However, all of them walked free on Friday night, as the time had already been served in jail with varying amounts of pre-trial period.

Judge David De Pas called the sentences "quite lenient," as per CNN.Most of the defendants are in their 60s and 70s, who walk with orthopaedic shoes and a cane to assist. Out of the original 12 suspects who entered her hotel room, one died, and another defendant has Alzheimer’s disease and, hence, was ruled unfit to stand trial.

In a statement given by Kim Kardashian following the jury’s verdict, she stated that she’s “deeply grateful to the French authorities for pursuing justice in this case.”

“The crime was the most terrifying experience of my life, leaving a lasting impact on me and my family,” she added. “While I’ll never forget what happened, I believe in the power of growth and accountability and pray for healing for all. I remain committed to advocating for justice and promoting a fair legal system,” the 44-year-old continued.

The ring leader apologised...

At the end of Kardashian’s testimony, the judge read out the letter written by the gang leader, Khedache, who is partially deaf and cannot speak. He apologised for inflicting pain and trauma on Kim Kardashian. “I want to come to you as a human being and say how much I regret my act," he wrote.

While Kim was moved by the gesture, she said that the trauma cannot be changed.
