During the shoot of 'Pratighaat', Barjatya, then an assistant director, humbly insisted on fetching Nana's shoes despite his lineage. In an interview with The Lallantop, Nana recalled a shoot for

, directed by N Chandra, where Sooraj was the assistant director. One day, Sooraj brought Nana his shoes, and when Nana told him not to, Sooraj insisted on doing it, explaining that as an assistant, it was his responsibility, despite being the heir to a major organisation.
The actor shared that many years later, he met Sooraj at a function and was surprised to see that he hadn't changed. Sooraj greeted him with a bow and folded hands, and Nana was amazed by how genuinely simple and humble he remained, appreciating that Sooraj's kindness was authentic.
Sooraj Barjatya is known for directing popular films like
