ceremony was held on Monday at Rashtrapati Bhavan, Delhi, where President Droupadi Murmu presented the prestigious honors. Renowned personalities such as Nandamuri Balakrishna, Ajith Kumar, Sekhar Kapur, Arijit Singh, and Ricky Kej were among the distinguished recipients. Additionally, the late Pankaj Udhas was felicitated posthumously for his contributions.
Celebrities Gather to Receive Prestigious Honors
Celebrities from all over India gathered to accept their Padma awards at the ceremony. Nandamuri Balakrishna wore traditional attire from Andhra Pradesh as he was presented with the Padma Bhushan, whereas Ajith Kumar opted for a suit for his award. Both Shekhar Kapur and Shobhana were also recipients of the Padma Bhushan. The award for the late Pankaj Udhas was received by his wife on his behalf.
Padma Shri Awards Presented to Arijit Singh and Ricky Kej
Arijit Singh and Ricky Kej were among the recipients of the Padma Shri award. The entire ceremony was broadcast live on YouTube. In addition, numerous individuals from sports, medicine, business, and various other sectors were honored with awards on Monday.
Ajith Kumar Expresses Gratitude
In January, when the awards were declared, Ajith released a statement expressing his feelings, “I am deeply humbled and honoured to receive the esteemed Padma Award by the President of India. I extend my heartfelt gratitude to the Hon'ble President of India, Smt. Droupadi Murmu and the Honourable Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi for this prestigious honour. It is a privilege to be recognized at such a level and I am truly grateful for this generous acknowledgment of my contributions to our nation.”
Shekhar Kapur Shares His Feelings
Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Shekhar posted, “What an honour! Am humbled that the Government of India has considered me to be deserving of a #Padmanbhushan. Hopefully this award will make me strive harder to serve the Industry that I am part of, and the beautiful Nation that I am so fortunate to belong to. Thank you also to our film audiences of India, for I am because you are.”
