Today, we celebrate the birthday of the talented actress Parineeti Chopra, she has touched our hearts with some remarkable performances in the cinematic world. From the very beginning, she has been versatile and charismatic in all her roles that have got her critical acclaim along with loyal fans. in April 2024, Parineeti's road to becoming Amarjot Kaur was never easy.
The film's director, Imtiaz Ali, first approached her for the role with one unusual condition: she had to gain 15 kilos and remove all the makeup to play the character. Parineeti consented to play along, as she wanted to do this role. "I said, 'I will do it,'" she said, while promoting the movie, recalling that many of her colleagues in the industry warned her that this film would end her career. However, it was Vidya Balan who did 'The Dirty Picture' that inspired her to take on the role.
Shooting for 'Chamkila' took over two years when Parineeti went through humongous personal and professional sacrifices. "I lost out on a lot of work. I looked my worst, and there were even pregnancy and plastic surgery rumors," she revealed while talking with
Bollywood
hungama. The gossip grew even hotter when she wore loose kaftan during the trailer launch. She made the return with a playful take on an Instagram video about fitting into fitted clothes again, saying, "fitted clothes era."
When the movie was near its release, Parineeti shared a gym regime of hers, contrasting with being plugged into loads of good food and music to gain weight for the role. "Now that the film is done, I miss the studio and am working hard to look like myself again," she said. Further she added, "I would still prefer 10 Chamkila's over a red carpet appearance.".
Her performance didn't go unnoticed; even her cousin Priyanka Chopra Jonas cheered her up by thanking the entire team that made the film hit. In her conversation, Parineeti also spoke about her marriage to politician Raghav Chadha: "I got married with all the weight that I had gained, so whenever I look at my wedding pictures, I will only be reminded of Chamkila.".
This was one of the defining moments in the actress Parineeti Chopra's career as it brought out her commitment towards the craft once again and the struggles an actor has to face for the very authenticity of the characters.
