The story revolves around Pavithran, known as Pavi, an unmarried and rather cynical caretaker at a residential apartment complex in Kerala.

His life is marked by monotony and the daily grind of maintaining the building while dealing with the residents. His stiff nature often leads to clashes with those around him, leaving him isolated except for the company of his loyal pet dog. However, Pavi's life takes a surprising turn when an unexpected relationship brings a brief moment of joy amid his struggles.

The film received praise for its blend of lighthearted comedy and emotional depth, although it fell short of the lofty expectations many had for Dileep’s return to form after a series of flops like ‘Bandra’, Thankamani, and others. ‘Pavi Caretaker’ explores themes of loneliness, human connection, and self-discovery, making it relatable to audiences.
The technical aspects of the film are handled with finesse. Cinematography by Sanu Thahir captured the urban setting of the apartment complex, while Deepu Joseph was in charge of editing. The film’s music was composed by Midhun Mukundan.
