Ajay Devgn’s ‘Raid 2’ continues to hold strong at the box office even after completing over three weeks in theatres. The crime thriller, directed by Raj Kumar Gupta, has now collected a solid Rs 157.88 crores in India net collections over 24 days.

Impressive opening and strong first week

As reported by the Sacnilk website, the film got off to a flying start with a Rs 19.25 crore opening on its first Thursday, followed by a minor dip on Day 2 with Rs 12 crore, before rebounding over the weekend. ‘Raid 2’ closed its opening weekend with Rs 71.25 crore in just four days and maintained decent hold over weekdays to end Week 1 at Rs 95.75 crore.

Sustains momentum despite dips

While the second week saw a noticeable drop, it still added a decent Rs 40.6 crore, aided by strong weekend numbers and a loyal audience base.

The third week fetched Rs 20.5 crore, as the film faced stiff competition from newer releases but retained screens due to steady footfalls, particularly in mass circuits.Collections in the fourth week showed the expected drop, but the film still managed Rs 1.03 crore on Day 23 (Friday). As per early estimates, Day 24 (Saturday) collections are expected to hover around the Rs 1.5-2 crore range, potentially pushing the total beyond the Rs 159 crore mark before the weekend concludes.

Star power and decent word of mouth

‘Raid 2’ stars Ajay Devgn, reprising his role as the determined IRS officer, alongside Vaani Kapoor, Riteish Deshmukh, and Saurabh Shukla in pivotal roles. The film received 3 star rating from ETimes and our official review reads, “Ajay Devgn and his sunglasses are intense. He portrays the old-school heroism with swag. He has a solid comic timing too. You wish that aspect was explored more here. The film has some clever one-liners too that mock the sycophants and the corrupt as it oscillates between no frills and old school dramatic storytelling.

Raid 2 stays true to its theme, but it takes itself a bit too seriously.”
