Ranveer-Deepika are beautifully in love: Karan Johar

Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone did their first joint interview post marriage with Karan Johar on 'Koffee With Karan'. The couple also finally unveiled their wedding video on the show after five years. However a particular statement of Deepika caused a lot of backlash on the internet. In a recent interview, Karan Johar was asked about one controversy post 'Koffee With Karan' which he deeply regrets.The film-maker opened up about it and said, he didn't like what happened after Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul's episode.

Karan said, "What I felt terrible about, more than anything else, was what happened to Hardik and Rahul. That really threw me off, because I hoped that there is no damage to anybody. It’s the universe’s grace that they’re both doing phenomenally. They’re national treasures. A show like mine can’t dampen heroes of our nation. I was really worried and scared about that. I’m not a cricket fanatic at all, but I started watching cricket only to follow their careers."When further asked about the backlash after DP-Ranveer episode, the film-maker commented, "I think they spoke from their heart. I thought they were honest. I think (the backlash) was ridiculous, I’m sorry. I don’t agree with the reaction. They were beautiful. They were honest. They were earnest. They were sincere. They were beautifully in love with each other. They’re a wonderful couple, I’ve known them personally. Now they have a gorgeous daughter. Respect their love story, don’t judge it. That’s all I have to say.”For those not in the know, Deepika had said on the show, "I wanted to be single for a while because I had come from difficult relationships. I was going through a phase where I said, ‘I just don’t want to be attached, don’t want to be committed.’ And I had fun. And then he comes along, so I didn’t ‘commit commit’, until he proposed to me. There was no ‘commitment’ as such. Even if we were technically allowed to see other people, we would just keep coming back to each other.”The actress' comment about considering other options while she was dating Ranveer, stirred several opinions on the internet.
