He openly criticised the declining quality of films being made today. "Jab itni gandi pictures banengi to flop to hongi hi. Jab banti hi gandi films hain," he remarked, stressing that poorly made films are bound to fail. He further added, "Including my own film, if it doesn’t work, it is a bad film. If it works, it is a very good film."

The '

Tiger 3

' actor acknowledged that a film’s success or failure ultimately falls on the shoulders of its lead star. “The star is the one who is seen on the poster, in the theatre. The blame would be on him too if the films don’t work,” he stated.

Salman also voiced his concern over the lack of quality-driven projects in Bollywood. He pointed out that filmmakers are now more focused on competing with one another rather than crafting meaningful cinema. “Everyone wants to show the other person how a movie is made. No, you have got to make a film for the audience. You have to write it in such a way that you are sitting in the front row and enjoying it. Don’t think ‘inko samajh nahi aayega.’ How can you say that? Then you start spoon-feeding the audience. But the audience has gone way ahead. With the OTT platforms coming in, the audience has access to any film and all types of cinema from anywhere,” he explained.
Highlighting a major flaw in today’s filmmaking process, Salman shared that films are often created based on the availability of actors and funding rather than on strong scripts. “Our directors and producers are making films for the wrong reasons. My father told me this the other day. A film should only be made once you have the best script ever. Nothing else,” he said.
