The 'Kushi' actress mentioned that she initially felt immense pressure to conform and seek validation in the film industry. She highlighted how the nature of the profession, with constant travel and living out of suitcases, adds to the difficulty of coping with these challenges.
“It gets really, really lonely, and this job has a way of feeding into your worst insecurities, your biggest demons… actors are narcissistic. Let’s admit it. So just imagine: you’re narcissistic and then surround yourself with people who only tell you what you want to hear. It’s a recipe for self-sabotage. Before you know it, you could be spiralling out of control,” Samantha said.
When asked how she maintains her mental stability amid such pressures, Samantha credited her commitment to meditation. She emphasised the importance of daily meditation in maintaining mental clarity. She shared that it helps her self-reflect, distinguish constructive criticism from negativity, and attract honest people instead of those who merely agree with her.
