Sean 'Diddy' arrested amid assault lawsuits

According to the latest reports, Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs, who was accused of

sex trafficking

and assault, has been arrested by

federal agents

in Manhattan late Monday, a US federal court said.
Damian Williams, the attorney for the

Southern District of New York

, has given a statement that states the arrest stemmed from a sealed indictment filed by his office.

"We expect to move to unseal the indictment in the morning and will have more to say at that time," he said.
Anticipating the charges, Diddy had voluntarily relocated to New York, said his lawyer Marc Agnifilo to AFP. He quoted, that their team is "disappointed with the decision to pursue what we believe is an unjust prosecution of Mr. Combs by the US Attorney's Office."
Reports say the rapper has been entangled in several civil lawsuits that accused him of being a violent sexual predator who used substances like drugs and alchohol to subdue his victims.

Fredral agents raided his homes in March, including a the invasion by armed officers at his sprawling luxury properties in Miami and Los Angeles
Meanwhile, his legal team has reportedly mentioned that the rapper has been cooperative with the investigation and hopes that in court his name will be cleared.
So far Combs has denied all accusations against him. Though he has not been convicted yet, the allegations of physicall assault against him date back to the 1990s.

Late last year Combs got into trouble after singer Cassie, (real name Casandra Ventura) accused him for physical voilence, drugs and rape in 2018. There was a disturbing surveillance footage to support Cassies’ allegation in the case which is now settled. For the unversed, ‘Diddy’ met Cassie when she was mere 19 and he was 37. He signed her for his label and later started a romantic relationship.
There were many such cases filed agains Sean, a woman alleged Combs and others gang-raped her when she was 17.
