The Brutalist: All you need to know!

Hollywood’s versatile actor Adrien Brody is back with ‘The Brutalist’, a name that rhymes along with his classical hit film ‘The Pianist’. As the makers have shared the trailer for Brady Corbet’s directorial, here let’s take a look at everything you should know about the movie.

The plot
‘The Brutalist’ is an e[ic historical drama film that follows the life of Laszlo Toth, a Hungarian-born Jewish architect who survives the Holocaust and emigrates to the US. The movie is told in three parts. The first part is titled, ‘The Enigma of Arrival’, and the second part is titled ‘The Hard Core of Beauty’. There comes’ the concluding chapter of ‘The Brutalist’ which is titled ‘Epilogue’ and the theme of this chapter is ‘It’s not about the journey, but the destination.’

The cast
Adrien Brody plays the lead character as László Tóth, a Hungarian-Jewish architect, and Felicity Jones as Erzsébet Tóth, László's wife. The ‘Memento’ star Guy Pearce will be stepping into the shoes of Harrison Lee Van Buren, a wealthy industrialist who becomes László's most important client.
Joe Alwyn plays the role of Harry Lee Van Buren and Raffey Cassidy as Zsófia, László's mute, orphaned teenage niece. Several other actors in the movie are Stacy Martin, Alessandro Nivola, Michael Epp, Jonathan Hyde, and Maria Sand.
Release date
With a run time of 215 minutes, ‘The Brutalist’ first premiered in Venice on September 1, 2024, and received rave reviews from the critics. In the United States, ‘The Brutalist’ will hit the big screens on December 20 and in the UK, the Adrien starrer will release on January 24, 2025. Meanwhile, the movie will have its premiere in a limited 70mm release in New York and Los Angeles on December 19.
