Despite Iyer's match-winning unbeaten 87 runs off 41 balls that guided Punjab Kings to their second IPL final, he was seen berating Shashank Singh for his run-out during the crucial chase of 204 runs.The incident occurred immediately after Iyer hit the winning six off Ashwani Kumar's bowling. Iyer was seen pointing fingers at Shashank, who remained silent but visibly disappointed during the exchange.

The run-out incident took place on the fourth ball of the 17th over when Shashank was dismissed for just 2 runs. The dismissal came off Trent Boult's bowling when Shashank hit a low full-toss towards Hardik Pandya at mid-on.Mumbai Indians captain Pandya's quick fielding and direct hit caught Shashank short of his crease at the non-striker's end.
