Director-actor Farhan Akhtar has caught everyone’s attention as he today unveiled the poster of his upcoming project ‘
120 Bahadur
.’ Introducing his character as
Major Shaitan Singh
in a gritty poster, Farhan honored the sacrifices made in 1962.
His fierce look as he holds the gun battling for the nation on the border has given the audience goosebumps. Sharing the poster Farhan writes, “It’s been 62 years since 1962. Today, we honor the unparalleled courage and sacrifice of the heroes of
Rezang La
. 120 Bahadur is our tribute to the valor and the indomitable spirit of Major Shaitan Singh and his brave men, who stood their ground against insurmountable odds. Their story echoes through time, reminding us of the price of freedom and the strength of unity, with a special salute to the Ahir community, whose sons displayed unmatched bravery in defending our nation." One of the fans wrote, “Only Farhan can do this. Only Farhan". Another wrote, “Fabulous @faroutakhtar Looking forward."
For the unversed, on November 18, 1962, the battle of Rezang La was fought in the devastatingly freezing heights of Ladakh. In the war 120 soldiers of Charlie Company stood fiercely to drag away the 3,000 Chinese troops. They were highly outnumbered, yet they didn’t stop till their last breath. Thus, their tale of resilience and patriotism is an epitome of sacrifice and heroism in Indian military history.
Earlier, Farhan shared some BTS shots from the sets that gave the audience a glimpse into the scenic beauty of Ladakh. The snowcapped white mountains, and dreamlike sky, it was a sight to sore eyes. He also shared a snap from the inside of his tent and captioned it as - “A quiet base."
The movie will be released next year, i.e. in 2025.
