Alia Bhatt’s former personal assistant arrested for duping the actress of over Rs 76 lakh – Details inside

Alia Bhatt’s former personal assistant has been arrested for cheating her of a whopping Rs 76.9 lakh. The accused, Vedika Prakash Shetty, worked closely with Alia and is now being blamed for swindling large sums from the actor’s personal and company accounts.Vedika Shetty was Alia’s PA from 2021-2024Reportedly, as per a statement by Mumbai Police, Alia Bhatt’s former secretary Vedika Shetty has been arrested by Juhu Police in connection with a Rs 7.7 million fraud involving the actress.Further, as reported by IANS, the case was registered a few months ago after Alia’s mother, veteran actress Soni Razdan, filed a complaint. Nearly five months later, Vedika was arrested in Bengaluru and brought before the court on Tuesday. The court has sent her to police custody until 10 July.

Juhu Police have reportedly booked Vedika Prakash Shetty under Sections 316(4) and 318(4) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). After carrying out the fraud, Vedika went missing and kept changing her location to avoid arrest.She is accused of forging Alia’s signature and cheating her of Rs 76.9 lakh over two years. Media reports say Vedika worked as Alia’s secretary from 2021 to 2024, during which she handled the actress’s financial papers, payments, and daily schedule.
