The late legendary actress Sridevi received recognition as a chowk in Lokhandwala, Mumbai was unveiled in her honour. On the occasion of Dussehra, Boney Kapoor and his daughter

inaugurated the chowk as a tribute to the late actress. They were even seen getting emotional at the event.
The inauguration took place on October 12 at a junction near Sridevi’s longtime residence,
Green Acres Tower
, where she lived for many years before passing away in 2018.
The place holds sentimental value, and at one point, Boney and Khushi appeared to be overwhelmed by the number of people that turned up at one point. Janhvi Kapoor did not attend the inaugural. The event was attended by political leaders and members from the industry. Veteran actors Shabana Azmi, Anupam Kher and Poonam Dhillon also graced the event with their presence.
In a video posted by a paparazzo on Instagram, Boney can be seen removing a cloth from over a photo of Sridevi. Boney also touches the photo of his wife while Khushi stands next to him, visibly upset. The stone commemorating her reads Sridevi Kapoor Chowk.
Sridevi was born as Shree Amma Yanger Ayyapan in Chennai in 1963. She's known for her iconic roles in Hindi movies like 'Chandni', 'Lamhe', 'Mr India', 'Chaalbaaz', 'Nagina', 'Sadma' and 'English Vinglish', among others. The Padma Shri awardee also made a mark with her extraordinary performances in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada films.
Her last film was 'Mom', for which she also received the Best Actress National Award, posthumously. Sridevi breathed her last on February 24, 2018, in Dubai, where she had gone to attend a family function.
