CBSE announces Class 10 and 12 supplementary exam schedule and fee details

CBSE supplementary exams 2025: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has officially released the notification regarding the submission of the List of Candidates for the supplementary examinations 2025 for Classes 10 and 12.

As per the circular, schools must complete the online submission process for regular students through the Pariksha Sangam portal between May 30, 2025 and June 17, 2025.This supplementary examination window is open for regular candidates who either received a ‘compartment’ result in the 2025 main exams or who wish to improve their performance in one or two subjects, as per eligibility criteria. The submission process is applicable only through schools affiliated with CBSE, and no requests will be entertained after the stipulated deadline.

A separate circular has been issued for private candidates, which is available on the official CBSE website.Eligibility criteria and categories coveredThe supplementary exams for 2025 will be conducted for multiple student categories:• Students placed in the compartment category in the 2025 board examinations.• Students who passed due to subject replacement and wish to improve their performance.• Students who passed the board exams but want to improve their scores in select subjects.

• Students appearing for their third and final chance after failing in both 2024 and 2025 attempts (only as private candidates).• Students of Class 10 wishing to switch between Mathematics Standard (041) and Basic (241).Class 12 students can appear in only one subject, whereas Class 10 students may appear in up to two subjects, subject to the condition of a valid subject combination as per the date sheet.Schedule and fee detailsThe supplementary examination for Class 12 will be held on July 15, 2025 (Tuesday) as a one-day examination, while for Class 10, the exams will begin from the same date and continue as per the date sheet released by CBSE.Here is the fee structure and schedule for submission:

Visually impaired students of both Classes 10 and 12 are exempted from paying examination fees.Important instructions for schoolsSchools are responsible for identifying and contacting students eligible for the supplementary exams, especially those in the compartment category. Even if the school is unable to reach the student, it is still required to submit their LOC to ensure eligibility.

It is the school’s duty to submit LOCs and ensure payment is completed before the deadline. No extension requests will be accepted under any circumstances.The LOC must be submitted using the school's affiliation number as the user ID, with the existing password to log into the system. Schools must finalise the data and ensure the digital fee payment is completed by the prescribed dates. Once the fee is paid and the final LOC is generated, no corrections will be permitted.Performance improvement and other detailsImprovement of performance is only permitted in the subjects specified by CBSE. Students who opt for improvement must ensure that the combination of subjects they select complies with the CBSE date sheet guidelines.The syllabus for the supplementary examination will be the same as the 2024–25 main board exam syllabus, available on the CBSE academic website. A consolidated mark sheet will only be issued to candidates who were placed in the compartment category and later declared ‘Pass’ in the supplementary exams.Admit cards and supportDetails regarding the download of admit cards will be released separately. In case of discrepancies or technical issues during the submission, schools can contact the IT branch of their respective CBSE regional office.
