Bollywood star Deepika Padukone was spotted at the airport on Friday sporting a laid-back summer ensemble as she jetted out of the city. Proving that comfort and style can go hand in hand, the actress rocked a relaxed hoodie and jeans with minimal accessories.Her outing comes amid growing speculation that she has exited director Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s much-anticipated action drama Spirit, which stars Prabhas in the lead. While Deepika was previously reported to have joined the cast with a reported fee of Rs 20 crore, industry buzz suggests that creative differences may have derailed the collaboration.According to Mid-Day, the Animal director was allegedly not on board with the new mom's terms, which included an eight-hour workday cap, a substantial salary package, and a share in the film’s profits.
Reports indicate that the demands lead to her exit from the project. However, no formal announcement has been made.
Deepika's calendar remains far from empty. She is reportedly gearing up to star in King, a high-profile film that will see her reunite with Shah Rukh Khan. The film is set to feature his daughter Suhana Khan in a pivotal role, marking one of the most anticipated films in Bollywood. Rani Mukerji is also said to be joining the ensemble cast, while Abhishek Bachchan is rumoured to play the antagonist.
While Spirit may no longer be on the cards, Deepika is enjoying her time being a mom to baby Dua. The actress and her hubby Ranveer Singh welcomed the little one in September 2024. While Ranveer has been busy with his many shoot commitments, Deepika has been making the most of her mother-daughter time, before she also returns to her film and other work commitments. Although she has been rumoured to have signed on a number of film projects, an official announcement on the same is still awaited.
Ranveer, on the other hand, is expected to begin work on Don 3 in September.
