With just five days remaining until the film's release, advance bookings in India are yet to commence. However, in North America (USA and Canada), ticket sales have witnessed a significant surge. Compared to other Telugu films like Kalki 2898 AD, Pushpa 2: The Rule, and Devara, the numbers for Game Changer are currently on the lower side. However, trade analysts anticipate a significant surge in the days leading up to its release. Adding to the excitement, the film is set to debut in the IMAX format on January 10, as officially confirmed by IMAX head Preetham Daniel on social media. Ram Charan and Kiara Advani recently visited the sets of Salman Khan’s Big Boss to promote the film stating their intent that the see the film as a Pan-India film.
Game Changer is Shankar’s first release since the debacle of Indian 2, its sequel to 1997 superhit film Indian with Kamal Haasan. The film did decent numbers, but didn’t match up with the kind of money put into it. Based on its performance, it is being rumoured that Indian 3 would be a direct to OTT release though Shankar is confident that with the success of Game Changer, things will change and he will be able to release Indian 3 in the theaters.
