Director Ram Gopal Varma’s unwavering admiration for the late Sridevi has often made headlines. Known for his candid and unfiltered opinions, the filmmaker once again spoke about the legendary actor and her daughter, Janhvi Kapoor, in a recent interview on his channel.
“I don’t see Sridevi in Janhvi yet,” RGV remarked bluntly, reigniting discussions about the striking resemblance - or lack thereof - between the two.

co-star Jr NTR had previously commented on how a particular frame during a photoshoot captured Janhvi as a “spitting image” of her mother, RGV dismissed such comparisons. He attributed this perception to what he termed a “Sridevi hangover.”
“Sridevi’s adulation grew because of her performances and talent,” RGV elaborated. “Be it Padaharella Vayasu or Vasanta Kokila, she delivered a range of performances. In fact, seeing her perform, I forgot that I was a filmmaker and started seeing her as an audience. That is the range.”

When asked about a potential collaboration with Janhvi, Varma did not mince words. “I liked the mother, right? Not the daughter...” he said, clarifying that his remark was made without any malice. “Honestly, throughout my career, there have been a lot of actors and big stars with whom I haven’t developed a connection. So yeah, I have no intention of doing a film with Janhvi.”

On the work front, Ram Gopal Varma is gearing up for a comeback project with Manoj Bajpayee, his Satya star. Meanwhile, Janhvi Kapoor, fresh off the success of Devara, has films like Sunny Sanskari ki Tulsi Kumari and Param Sundari lined up, ensuring she continues to make her mark in the industry.
