However, the film's dry spell at the box office is expected to continue in the upcoming weekend with new film releases, including Akshay Kumar's Kesari 2.
Directed by AR Murugadoss and featuring Rashmika Mandanna alongside Salman Khan, Sikandar was released on March 30, 2025, coinciding with Eid al-Fitr. Despite the festive release and a substantial production budget of Rs 200 crore, the film has struggled to maintain its initial traction.
Critics have pointed to a weak script and lacklustre storytelling as contributing factors to its underperformance.
The film has now become one of Salman's lowest-performing films. It's poor box office performance comes after Vicky Kaushal's triumphant success with his film 'Chhaava' that earned over Rs 600 crore and became the first hit of 2025.
