Sparsh Shrivastava made headlines for his performance in
Laapataa Ladies
, and the actor has been receiving a lot of appreciation for his roles in '

', '

', and more. Now, the actor has opened up about facing rejections like any other actor in the industry—even after 'Laapataa Ladies'.
In an interview with India Today, Sparsh shared that rejections are part of the casting process nowadays.
“Because what happens is, I may be a better actor than you, but a character may suit someone else better—they may look a certain way, their body type, expressions, or facial structure might be what the makers are seeking. So I think the director and the producers would naturally choose them,” he added.

“But I don’t take rejection very personally. In fact, I celebrate it. That’s my way. There was one project I was very attached to a long time ago, and when that didn’t work out, it shook me a little. I thought to myself, ‘This isn’t going to be easy.’ I gave myself another chance. So now, I celebrate my rejections,” he further shared.
As an actor who had a background and career in television before entering cinema, Sparsh acknowledges that bias exists in the film industry but says he hasn’t personally experienced it. Instead, he views his journey in a positive light—considering television as his acting school, OTT as his post-graduation, and films as his professional career. When asked if he has ever taken a role purely for money, he replied with a clear no.
'Laapataa Ladies' was India’s official entry for the Best International Feature Film category at the 97th Academy Awards, but it did not make it to the nomination list.
