Amar Kaushik’s latest directorial venture,
Stree 2
, led by Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao, has already made history in Hindi cinema by becoming the highest-grossing film of all time. It is now on the verge of becoming the first Hindi film to cross the Rs 600 crore mark, though a few hurdles may stand in its way.

In recent days, the film’s collections have been dipping. Over seven weeks, it amassed Rs 591.95 crore, and during its eighth weekend, it added another Rs 2.65 crore.
Over the past three days, it has only added Rs 1.40 crore, bringing its total collection to Rs 596 crore. The film now needs just Rs 4 crore to enter the Rs 600 crore club, which it is likely to achieve by the coming week.
However, besides the slowing collections, another challenge for the film’s journey to Rs 600 crore is its release on OTT starting today. With the film now available for home viewing, audiences no longer need to go to the theaters. Moreover, three new releases—Rajinikanth’s Vettaiyan, Alia Bhatt’s Jigra, and Rajkummar Rao’s Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video—give viewers the option to watch something new after a long period of time.
There are also rumors that Amar Kaushik and Dinesh Vijan are working on their next project with Shah Rukh Khan, with initial conversations already taking place. Only time will tell when the film will go on floors.
Stree 2 also featured Aparshakti Khurrana, Abhishek Banerjee, Pankaj Tripathi and cameos by Akshay Kumar, Varun Dhawan and Tamannaah Bhatia.
