01/6Each time Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas PROVED that they are awesome parents to daughter Malti Marie
Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas are one of the most adorable celeb couples. The duo, who tied the knot in 2018 in Jodhpur, became parents to daughter Malti Marie through surrogacy in January last year. Despite their busy schedules, the two are hands-on parents, who do not shy away from doing 'normal' things, whether it is taking Malti to the neighbourhood park, or even her maiden trip to India earlier this year. Here's looking back at instances when Nick and PeeCee revealed what awesome parents they are....
02/6Light of her world
In a recent interview, Priyanka talked about Malti Marie's premature birth and the trauma it caused the actor. Malti Marie was in the NICU for 100 days before Priyanka and Nick could bring her home. During a recent interaction, Priyanka said that she was not able to celebrate her first Mother's Day after Malti's arrival because she had not been a mom long enough. She further said that Malti has got her wrapped around her finger and she doesn't even know how she would be able to discipline her because she doesn't have it in her. "I was so close to losing her so many times that she can get away with anything and I just want to see her happy. I want her to be the happiest. She’s a super smiley, happy baby, and that’s all my goal is—to see her joyous. Every time she smiles, it lights up my world, and that’s all I want to do." she said.
03/6PC calling Malti a 'real Chopra'
During a media interaction, Priyanka revealed that her daughter, Maltie Marie Chopra Jonas, is a real Chopra. According to her, she is a great fan of Indian food, as she loves paneer mutter and biryani. Malti also loves spicy chatpata food, just Chopra style. Earlier this year, Malti came to India for the first time and the little one loved everything about Mumbai. PeeCee mentioned that Malti loved the sounds and sights of the city, its food and other things. Malti Marie also loved going to her nani's house, which is Priyanka's mother Madhu Chopra's house.
04/6Nick being adaptive of Indian culture
In a recent interview, Nick opened up on raising daughter Malti Marie with principles of Hinduism as well as biblical principles. He said on a podcast with Dax Shepard that he has a very deep and meaningful relationship with God, but God has taken many different shapes than just what he has read in books. He confessed that now that he has married a Hindu woman, he has learnt so much more about the Hindu religion, and finds it quite inspiring. Hence, they're raising a child who is going to have elements of biblical principles and also elements from Hindu faith.
05/6Superhero mums
Talking about how great it is to be a mom, PeeCee recently said, “I’m so lucky to have always known the love of a mother. My mother is the strongest woman I know. And her mother was too. I come from a lineage of women who are warriors and I was blessed to be raised by many of them. My Mum, my aunts, my grand mothers. Thank you Ma, you’re the greatest gift in my life. I could not be more grateful you’re mine!" She further added, “To all the moms out there.. the ones I have a privilege of knowing and working with and the ones I don’t… you are superheroes. As a new mum I have so much respect for all the nurturers who devote themselves to the next generation. My gratitude. Also thank you Denise for raising an exceptional son and for all the love you bestow upon our family. I’m so blessed.”
06/6Would move continents for Malti
Recently, Priyanka spoke about the time when her parents moved base from Bareilly to Mumbai to give her and her brother a better education. Talking about it, she had said, "At that time, I took it all completely for granted. I was like, of course it’s your parents’ job to do that. My career matters. And I didn’t even think about it until I was writing my book. And then it dawned on me like now I’m in my 40s. And that, if I were asked to give up my career and just move countries, I would do it without question for my daughter.".
