Rajinikanth has achieved a demi-god status in the country thanks to fans, and every time his film hits the theaters, it is a festival for the audience. And the same can be said about his latest film Vettiayan - a police procedural directed by
TJ Gnanavel
.
The fandom for Rajinikanth is so strong that
Vettaiyan
crossed the Rs 100 crore mark in just 4 days, and buzz for the film is strong and is expected to hit Rs 125 crore before the end of the week.
Going by the box office numbers, the main contribution to the massive collection has come from the Tamil version, which has contributed about Rs 91.85 crore, followed by Telugu version which is at Rs 10.4 crore. But, it is the Hindi version which has in a way, under performed by contributing only Rs 2.3 crore. But when compared to Rajinikanth’s last film Jailer, Vettaiyan has outperformed it by over 100 % in Hindi.

had collected just Rs 1.05 crore in Hindi version over its 4 day weekend. The film also features Rana Daggubati, Fahadh Faasil, Manju Warrier and Ritika Singh in pivotal roles
