HYBE, the agency behind the global sensation

BTS

, is hitting back at persistent rumours connecting the K-pop group to an unfolding drug scandal. The controversy, which initially centred around figures like

Lee Sun Kyun

and

G-Dragon

, has sparked waves of speculation in recent days.
A spokesperson from HYBE, took a firm stance on October 28th, denying any association between their artists and a particular entertainment venue in downtown Seoul where allegations of illegal substance use surfaced.

They emphasized that BTS members have no knowledge of the location in question and have never set foot inside the bar.
The new statement read, "“he rumors that are circulating about our artist and a specific location are not true at all. The BTS members do not know the establishment in question, and they have never been there. We are responding to the spreading of falsehoods and the defamation of [our artist’s] character with a no-tolerance policy, and we are taking both civil and criminal legal action. We have already begun taking legal action against groundless falsehoods about our artist.” In response to this escalating situation, BTS's fervent fanbase, known as the ARMY, has rallied behind HYBE, urging the agency to take resolute legal action.
This is not the first time BTS has been entangled in such controversies. The group's name became associated with recent drug and adult entertainment cases following the drug investigation involving BIGBANG's G-Dragon and actor Lee Sun Kyun. In their initial statement, HYBE voiced their support for the group, vehemently denying any involvement in the scandal and reaffirming BTS's clean record. They also hinted at their determination to take strong measures against the dissemination of false information, a stance that remains unchanged in their second statement.
