The film has become the highest Tamil grossing film ever in UK and India following Rajinikanth's '2.0'. 'Leo' has become a blockbuster of the year and the movie is still running in theatres with a 46% occupancy for every show.

Though the film has seen a dip in its race, it is still running steadily in theatres. It is expected that the movie will cross the Rs 500 crore mark soon. The movie makers have announced the film's OTT premiere on November 10. While the movie has become a commercial success, director Lokesh Kanagaraj speaking at the 'Japan' audio and trailer launch on October 28 said that he knows that 'Leo' received a lot of mixed reviews and said that he also knew that many did not like the film.
