officials mentioned that Rajkummar is well aware of the entire process of elections because of his film Newton.
An official added, “We will be using his services in a big way for the 2024 elections. He is also working with us for new voter registration campaigns as he is immensely popular among the youth.”

Rajkummar said, “The feeling that you get when you cast a vote, the feeling of participating in democracy, in the formation of the government, that’s the best feeling, and you don’t want to miss out on that. The film industry has taught me the value of diversity and unity. Just as our films celebrate India’s rich culture, languages and beliefs, democracy thrives on diverse voices that come together to create our harmonious nation. Each of my roles added depth to my understanding of the diversity of our nation. I have a stake in the destiny of India, and this is where my journey into the realm of voter awareness begins.”
In previous years, Aamir Khan, MS Dhoni, Jasbir Jassi and Dr Neeru Kumar were named National Icons of the ECI.
