Salman Khan’s Sikandar crosses $1 Million in North America but faces challenges

Bollywood superstar Salman Khan's latest film,

Sikandar

, has crossed the coveted $1 million mark in North America within just three days of its release. However, the daily trend suggests that the film is struggling to maintain momentum, with a significant drop in collections after its second day.
Sikandar opened with a decent start in North America, collecting $304,379 on its first day across 675 locations. The film saw strong growth on its second day, earning $511,493 from 759 locations, but it witnessed a sharp decline of over 50% on the third day, bringing in only $200,437 from 694 locations. Despite this drop, the film managed to surpass the $1 million milestone, with a total North American gross of $1,016,309 (Rs 8.68 crore). Breaking it down, the United States contributed $701,135, while Canada added $314,733 to the film’s earnings in the region.
While Sikandar has achieved this milestone, it is struggling in comparison to other Indian releases. Mohanlal and Prithviraj’s L2: Empuraan surpassed the $1 million mark on its second day itself, despite having a lower screen count than Sikandar. The trend highlights how Salman Khan's latest venture is facing stiff competition at the international box office.

In India, Sikandar has collected Rs 74.5 crore, which is an improvement over his previous theatrical release, Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan (which earned around Rs 66 crore). However, when compared to Salman Khan’s past Eid releases, the film is significantly underperforming.
A major factor that affected Sikandar’s box office collection was its leak on the internet a day before its official release. Piracy has once again impacted a big-ticket Bollywood release, leading to potential revenue loss. With the film already struggling to maintain strong audience traction, the leak only added to its challenges.
Despite these setbacks, Sikandar still has the potential to recover with positive word-of-mouth and the continued support of Salman Khan’s fanbase. However, its future trajectory will depend on whether it can sustain itself in the coming weeks amid growing competition next being Sunny Deol's

Jaat

releasing on 10th April.
