Rowoon
and
Cho Yi Hyun
premiered to an impressive nationwide average rating of 4.5 per cent.
‘The Matchmakers’ is directed by Hwang Seung Gi and
Kim Soo Jin
. Set in the Joseon era, Jung Soon Deok, a young widow played by Cho Yi Hyun, leads a colourful life.
She once married into a powerful family but lost her husband. Living a double life, she acts as a matchmaker, uniting eligible bachelors with suitable brides. On the other hand,
Shim Jung Woo
, portrayed by Rowoon, is the King's discontented son-in-law. His unhappiness stems from the sudden death of his princess bride right after their wedding.
Although Shim Jung Woo is known for his grumpiness, he's also the smartest man in the land, having become the youngest person to pass the Civil Service Exam. These two unlikely partners must come together to find husbands for important Joseon women who are getting older. Despite their differing perspectives on life, they have no option but to collaborate.
In contrast to the success of 'The Matchmakers', episode 11 of 'Twinkling Watermelon' witnessed a slight dip in its ratings, scoring an average nationwide viewership rating of 3.3 per cent, down from its previous episode's 3.5 percent.
Meanwhile, 'Evilive', which recently switched its broadcasting schedule from Saturday-Sunday to Sunday-Monday starting on October 22, aired its sixth episode and managed to capture an average nationwide rating of 1.3 per cent. This represents a notable increase of 0.3 percent from its previous episode, which had a rating of 1.0 per cent.
