There is so much heart in the movie because of Gowtam

Nani starrer 'Jersey' is still in the hearts of the fans for the actor’s powerful performance as Arjun, a once-promising cricketer struggling for redemption, directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri. Throwback to the time when Nani reacted to the film's Hindi remake.
In 2022, 'Jersey' was remade in Hindi, again helmed by Gowtam Tinnanuri, with Shahid Kapoor stepping into the lead role. Nani, during an interview with India Today, was asked about his feelings on the remake. Nani shared that the original Jersey would always be closest to his heart, and he could never truly let go of his version of the story.
He said, "I cannot let go of my version of Jersey. If someone had just replaced the head of the actor with another, then it would bother me. But here, the story is being retold by the same director, Gowtam Tinnanuri. There is so much heart in Jersey because of Gowtam, his vision, and the way he wrote the script. When the original director is handling it, I know the Hindi version will receive the same love.”

Nani explained that if someone else had simply replaced him in the role, it might have been unsettling, but with Gowtam at the helm, he trusted the remake would retain the same love. He found comfort in the fact that the Hindi adaptation was being made by the same director.
Nani also expressed curiosity about watching the Hindi version as an audience member. He saw it as an opportunity to see his own performance from a new perspective and to learn from the experience. He acknowledged that while 'Jersey' would always be his film, he was eager to see how the story would connect with a new audience and how Shahid Kapoor would interpret the character.
After watching the Hindi remake, Nani praised Shahid Kapoor and the cast for beautifully capturing the heart of the story. He described the film as "true good cinema."

Nani's portrayal of Arjun as a father desperate to prove himself to his son was highly praised by the viewers, and Shraddha Srinath, Ronit Kamra, and Sathyaraj rounded out a strong supporting cast.
On the current work front, he will be next seen in the action thriller 'HIT 3,' which will hit the silver screens on May 1, 2025.
